Thanks to our sponsors' support, this year's conference is absolutely FREE! We hope to get as many students attending as possible from the Southwest Region (Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas) and other regions as well. However, if you are financially able, we encourge you to donate to our LMSA Southwest Venmo account (@SouthwestRegion-LMSA) since any funds will help us to continue to provide support to our Latino students and our communities.
This year's conference will be hosted virtually on the Socio platform. For tickets, please check out our event on Eventbrite (or the "Sign Up Here" link below). Socio app platform can be found on Apple's App store or the Google Play store under LMSA Hub or through the Socio Web App Link (the password to the event will be emailed out once registered!). We are also selling LMSA Southwest swag bags that include a multicolored pen, a pocket notebook, a cloth mask, and a travel mug for $25 (shipping included!). These can be purchased after selecting your ticket on the EventBrite. |
The theme of this year’s conference is ”El Líder Dentro de Mi: Advancing Latinx Leadership in Medicine.” We want to highlight the importance of Latino leaders in improving Latino health, exploring topics on the advancement of Latinos as professionals and leaders in medicine.
Our goal is to unite aspiring Latino doctors and healthcare professionals to develop collaborations and inspire new ideas that will help us work toward quality health care for all patients regardless of background, socioeconomic status, and ethnicity. We aim to bring pre-medical undergraduates, medical students, residents, and practicing physicians together in order to discuss how to best meet the needs of the underserved communities we encounter. Our conference will include presentations and talks from outstanding Latino healthcare professionals, an exhibitor fair, a research poster symposium, multiple networking activities, professional development workshops, and a graduating senior ceremony. We look forward to bringing to you our best annual conference in the history of LMSA Southwest. |
